What to Expect

Before Your Session

We plan it together.

From color palettes to themes to outfit styling, I guide you every step of the way so everything feels cohesive, timeless, and true to your baby. Whether you love soft and minimal, whimsical and floral, or something playful and bold — we’ll design a setup that photographs beautifully without overwhelming your little one.

You’ll receive prep guidance before your session so you know exactly what to bring, how to plan around naps, and how to prepare if your baby hasn’t had cake before.

During the Session

Cake smash sessions are completely baby-led.

We begin with clean milestone portraits — simple, sweet images of your one-year-old before the cake makes its appearance. These are the timeless portraits you’ll frame forever.

Then the cake comes out.

Some babies dive right in.

Some poke it cautiously.

Some laugh.

Some cry.

Some smear frosting everywhere.

Every reaction is perfect.

I gently guide and document without forcing anything. If your baby needs cuddles, a break, or a moment to reset, we take it. There is no rush here. The goal is to capture their real personality in this season — messy, curious, sweet, and completely themselves.

The Mess (and the Magic)

Yes… it gets messy. That’s part of the fun.

I handle the setup and most of the cleanup so you don’t have to worry. I do recommend bringing wipes, a towel, and a change of clothes for both baby and you — just in case frosting flies farther than expected.

Optional splash bath add-ons are available and make for the sweetest post-cake images while helping with cleanup.
